Health care policy regulations lie within the jurisdiction of the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) policies pertaining to child care or any home based program execution within a community(Agency for health care administration, 2014).

Child care center policy

This child care policy pertains to child safety.

Mission Statement

This facility provides excellent child care from 0- 3 years old

Goal

Ensuring children’s safety when in the facility’s environment and extension to the home in cases of emergency.

Policy implications

Parents and day care workers are the persons receiving this policy directive. Enforcement will be through parents’ and workers’ signature acknowledging as well as committing to comply with the policy. Based on their response training will be conducted to enforce compliance. Health care providersought to have healthcare policy because they can transmitdiseases to children.

Specifics of policyregulations

Symptoms that will exclude a child from care include disruptive behavior such as fighting with other students, destruction of other children’s property or that of the facility property and discovery of a contagious disease (Child Care Aware, 2014).

If a child comes to school ill the provider/staff must make an assessment of the child’s physical, mental and social condition. The parent must be notified immediately if the condition appears to be an emergency. In case where the condition is not life threatening when the parent goes to pick up the child he/she is notified about assessed health condition. If the condition is troublesome to other children such as a cold running nose or sneezing, the parent is asked to sign a form for the child to have a doctor’s evaluation(Child Care Aware, 2014).

The child returns to school if excluded after being seen by the pediatrician who makes a diagnosis on a form provided by the school through Agency of health-care administration along with the department of education. The pediatrician must state that diagnosis and indicate that it is not contagious or threading to the child’s life in the facility (Child Care Aware, 2014).

Home based program.

This home based program policy pertains to the children’s attendance.

Ensuring students are offered the best opportunities for learning within the environment

Policy implications

This program accepts only healthy children between the ages of 0 to 3 years old. The attendance policy relates to parents of children admitted to the program and parents desiring to accessing services under the home based intervention. Attempts at complying with this policy will be made at enrollment. Parents will be asked to sign the consent form to policy adherence executed by the program. Any misunderstanding or concerns will be discussed for clarification.

Specifics of policy regulations

Symptoms that will exclude a child from care include parents’ non-compliance with attendance policies. A child is expected to attend the program every day. If after two days of nonattendance an alert will be sent to locate the parents regarding an explanation for the absence. A response is expected with three days after, which the department of children and families will be asked to intervene(Head Start, 2014).

If a child comes to school ill the parents will be notified to have him/her see a doctor on a special form.Child returns to school if excluded when seen by the doctor and considered health for school activities and interaction with other children (Head Start, 2014).
