Introduction
People have childhood memories, which remind them of the best moments they ever had in life. Very often, in their minds and in their imagination they return to the places, which will always be the dearest, the most beautiful, the most pleasant, and the most comfortable for them. Very often, nature and countryside become the sources of joy and pleasure. Nature and countryside give enough space for running and jumping all around, having the feeling of unlimited freedom and complete euphoria. For children, nature and countryside are associated with joy and pleasure. Many children like nature because they can play and have fun all around. Adults can remember visiting their grandparents in the country. Now, as years have passed, there is a chance to return and to see those places again. There is a desire to see how the perceptions about the place have changed with age. Now, nature and countryside no longer associate with unlimited freedom and joy; on the contrary, when visiting an empty house in the middle of a flower field there is nothing but the feeling of grief and loss for something that can never come back.
Nature and countryside were always the sources of unique perceptions and feelings. One had to use a train in order to go to the country. Every year, there was a unique chance to have one or two months spent in the atmosphere of freedom and joy, among flowers, animals, between the sky and the land. The way to the country was always the same, and all landscapes grew familiar, but they always gave a different feeling inside. Sometimes the fields and plants passing by were merry and promising. At times, when the sky was gray, they were sad and even nervous. However, no matter in what mood the nature could be, it always looked beautiful. Nature and people… people and nature… And there could be nothing better in this life.
The house was located in the very middle of a large valley, filled with various flowers, plants, and even small animals. One could spend hours lying on the ground, smelling flowers and looking into the sky. The clouds seemed to be moving through mind and soul, and it was always interesting to imagine what it could be like to be high above. The nature gave rise to imagination. The spirit of flowers was as rich as it was also confusing, and one could readily imagine what it would be like to be a flower. Innocence was dominant at that time. There was nothing except joy and pleasure. Nothing could compare to that feeling of freedom. One could finally hide from problems and conflicts at home. A person could finally feel at paradise.
Many years have passed since then. Education and hurried lifestyles did not leave a chance to visit those places again. For years, there was a persistent desire to return to those places. No, they have hardly changed, but there was a kind of curiosity about feelings and perceptions toward those places after so many years. It appears that what once used to be the source of joy can readily turn into the source of confusing feelings. The house is now empty. The place looks abandoned. Moreover, there is no sense of joy and euphoria. There is a feeling that something has gone and will never be back again. Flowers and fields are exactly the same, and the smell of the valley did not change. The feeling of unlimited freedom did not change, too. One can still look into the sky but this sky is no longer inviting. Now this place looks like a border between the childhood and the adulthood. It is like a wonderful dream that will never be true again. Sadness and grief are in everything, and there is a hidden desire not to come back here again, to let this place stay in memory as the source of joys and pleasures.
Conclusion
Childhood years are always colored with the joy and euphoria about traveling and visiting the countryside. The countryside and nature always give a sense of unlimited freedom. For children, nature and countryside are often associated with fun and pleasure. Now, however, these places are no longer associated with joy. Rather, there is a feeling of grief and loss for something that will never come back. The valley and the house did not change, but they no longer look inviting, and remind of something that will never be real again.
