Childhood Play Experiences , Essay Example

Words: 564

Essay

My childhood play experiences were enterprising. From the time I began to recognize who I am my love for teaching emerged. In my culture teachers still used a switch to enable learning. As such, most of my play after attending school according to my remembrance consisted of playing school. The houses in my community were built on pillars. There was a space between the house flooring  andthe ground. Thisspace was some six feet in height and the pillars about 12 in number. My classroom was the space between the flooring of our house and the ground.

Students in my class were the house pillars. I gave then instructions and assignments. They were expected to respond. Also, the teaching and responding were done by me since my students could not talk. When their responses were incorrect or behavior inappropriate for my class the ones responsible were punished by lashes. These classes lasted for about 2-3 hours Monday to Friday.

In interviewing my parents they explained that earlier my play interest was being a mother and the part that intrigued me was getting pregnant. My mother related how I would stuff cloth into my stomach to demonstrate a pregnancy, but never would birth the baby.

These play incidences when linking them to early childhood play categories research findings demonstrate one sixth of the play types found in research. They relate to solitary or independent play as the only teacher and student inanimate objects in my unconscious play pen. The other categories are unrelated to this activity. They include unoccupied, onlooker, parallel, associative and cooperative. In both types of the play, the ones observed along with reports from my parents are solitary play attitudes.

Theperfect school for kidsmust possess distinct characteristics, which include most capable efficient teachers as well as auxiliary staff.  Auxiliary staff persons consist of people serving food in the canteen, school crossing guards, secretaries, librarians, cleaners, computer guides, counselors, and substitute lecturers. Another distinction of my perfect school is inclusivity of parents who have an above average educational level along with a middle class social deportment. Principals must be matured people with an excellent educational background. Theeducation must not pertain to academic attainment only, but  extendedexperience working with students in early childhood educational development.

The school’s curriculum must cater to the needs of students from a personal as well as collective perspective. Consequently, the no child left behind would be a daily activity and not just a slogan in departments of education. This would mean frequent screening of young children within the school system alerting practitioners of early learning discrepancies. My perfect school would be one that serves as a role model for other early childhood education institutions in my community. Apart from employing staff and teachers with exceptional disciple and potential for nurturing healthy character development through modelling, the environment would demonstrate wholeness.

During early childhood children learn what they see and are associating with daily/frequently. As such, exposure to clean, attractive, wholesome environment is mandatory. While people presence is carefully selected, the physical surroundings do impact students learning aptitude in early childhood education. In addition to the code enforced physical infrastructure, my perfect school would employ a gardener to grow and groom flowers along with botanical trees.  While they are used as decorations for my school facility, these natural sources of life provide fragrance and a peaceful learning atmosphere for toddlers, pre-scholers and pupils in early childhood education programs.
