How Qian Xuan’s art work influenced Western Artists

Qian Xuan’s art, Early Autumn had a lot of influence on the western artists. Firstly, it introduced a new medium to the western artists. For example, many western artists did their painting on canvas (Elkins 21). However, since the introduction of the Early Autumn many of them started doing their painting on papers such as the rice paper. Thus, they adopted the method that was used by How Qian Xuan in her work. Additionally, it is evident that western artists started capturing other forms of creation clearly, an element that was not common prior to the Early Autumn.

Comparison between Mona Lisa and Early Autumn

Mona Lisa is a famous painting created by Leonardo da Vinci. Compared the Early Autumn by Qian Xuan, one can identify several differences between them. Firstly, Mona Lisa pays a lot of attention to the human forms and three-dimensional real world (Charles 23). Notably, that was a common characteristic of the western art especially during the renaissance period. On the other hand, Early Autumn does not depict any human form. Instead, lays its emphasis on the beauty of nature as an appreciation and re-connection with the universe.

Additionally, Mona Lisa is an oil painting on wood while Early Autumn is an ink and colors on paper. Oil painting is a common characteristic of the renaissance art where the paintings were done by applying oil on several media such as canvas and wood. Due to the fact that the Mona Lisa is an oil painting, the contrast appears to be of high quality (Rivera 15). In addition, the texture of the painting comes out as intentioned. On the other hand, the use of ink and color also enables the early autumn to paint out a two-dimension illustration of the early stages of autumn (Cameron, 157). Notably, the usage of the two media gives differing effects to the efficiency of the painting. For example, use of oil and wood in Mona Lisa produces a three-dimensional image while the use of paper produces a two-dimensional image.
