Circulatory System, Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 401

Essay

The Circulatory System is an astounding, complex organization, comparable to a highway that passes through the entire human body joining billions of its body cells. The circle of blood is in charge of transporting vitally important substances throughout the whole organism. It delivers nutrients, water, and oxygen to each body cell, taking away produced wastes, such as carbon dioxide.

The circulatory system is built up of the vessels and the muscles that facilitate and manage the transportation of the blood around the body. The circulatory system is, therefore, normally divided into three key constituents: the Heart, the Blood and the Blood Vessels.

The heart is a most important muscle in the human body. It is located in the middle of one’s chest somewhat to the left. The pump of the heart initiates the blood’s journey. Typically, human organism contains approximately five liters of constantly traveling blood. The blood is not just some ruby liquid as we used to observe it. Its structure is rather complicated, as it is made up of a number of liquids and solids mixed with small portions of oxygen and carbon dioxide.

The blood vessels, in turn, can also be divided into three categories: Arteries, Capillaries and Veins. They all differ by size and allotted functions. So, arteries are meant to carry the blood full of oxygen away from the heart. As it travels through the organism, the rich blood delivers oxygen, which is essential to produce energy, to the different parts of the body, such as cells and brain. On its track back to the heart, the blood circulates through a system of veins. As it gets to the lungs, the waste product (carbon dioxide) is taken away from the liquid and is replaced with fresh oxygen, which we breathe in through the lungs.

Circulatory system is performing an extremely hard and multifaceted task that necessitates an accurate coordination of all processes.  Each element must function autonomously so that they all are able to operate together. If not for the amazing structure with which circulatory system continuously perform, human organism would not be able to endure over many years. Therefore, one should make sure to keep his/her heart, blood and vessels healthy, and the body will do the rest of the job.
