Pages: 1

Words: 329

Essay

In Example 1, there is co-presence since we see from lines 32 and 33 that two characters, Fred and Silver, exist in these two lines. Also, lines 44 and 45 show this since Fred and Mr. White are the main characters from the lines. Furthermore, there is the presence of Turn-taking whereby from lines 41,42,43,44, and 45, it is evident that the conversation switches from Fred to Silver, then back to Fred, who finally is answered by Mr. White in line 45. Finally, from 41 to 43, we can identify the presence of sense-making whereby Fred in 41 requests the others to write to write in the capital, whereby Silver replies with capital letters in 43.

In Example 2, Turn-taking is seen from lines 84 to 86, where the conversation switches from Mr. White to Fred to Silver. Finally, sense-making is evident from lines 86 to 88, where Silver makes sense by asking when the credits from colleges should be transferred or not since Fred had said that the colleges should be selective while moving them.

In Example, 3 Co presence is evident in line 105, whereby both Dr. Ahmed and Janet are seen in the same Example. Turn-taking is apparent in lines 117 to 120, whereby danielm waits for Dr. Ahmed to finish talking about hoping the presenter to be more specific in the project background and history, and then danielm discusses about the sound quality to be so crucial. Finally, these lines from 117-120 also portray sense in the lines by proving it’s vital as long as it holds the events.

In Example 4, Turn-taking is seen from line 144 to line 147, whereby Hassan waits for Alec Hunter-Moore to finish expressing himself before he asks Janet a question. Co presence is available in this Example in line 147, where Hassan mentions Janet to answer a question. Finally, sense-making is seen in lines 144 to 147, whereby Alec Hunter-Moore shows interest in upcoming projects based on e-commerce replacing paper-based learning.
