The participant must also clearly understand the information and be knowledgeable about discontinuing his or her participation without being penalized. The participant must also be given access to the necessary information that facilitate the achievement of adequate informed consent which engross the potential harms as well as associated benefits of participation, the nature of participation as well as any other alternatives if any aside from participation in research. Data protection is another important consideration that should be communicated to the participant.

“The nurse has the responsibility to implement and maintain stands of professional nursing practice.
