One of the most favorite dish in England is the roast chicken with roast potatoes. However, in the US, fried chicken is a famous dish among the locals. There are plenty of dishes in these two countries, but the focus for this short essay will be to compare and highlight differences between these two dishes.

Firstly, both the English roast chicken and the American fried chicken have the same amount of calories. The calories average at around 250. Similarly, the fat and protein content for the roasted and fried chicken average at 13g and 27g respectively. These weights and calories are based on 100g of raw chicken and follow both countries’ food science standards. In addition, both delicacies can be cooked potatoes, that is, mashed or roasted option.

However, the methodology for preparing these two dishes is quite distinct. The English roasted chicken with roast potatoes is made through a low heat process, using an oven. On the other hand, the famous American fried chicken is usually placed in highly heated pan of vegetable cooking oil. The latter is prepared by taking thin cuts of chicken parts and tenderizing it through curbing, forking or pounding. After that, it is dipped in egg batter and dredged in a seasoning made of salt and pepper. On the contrary, the roasted chicken has only additions of roasted potatoes with less seasoning of salt and black pepper.

In conclusion, while both delicacies are made using the similar ingredients, the fried chicken has more seasoning addition compared to the roasted chicken. The American fired chicken is mostly taken with beer, whereas, the English roasted chicken with roast potatoes goes well with a bottle of wine. The distinct nature of preparing these dishes is what gives them the unique taste and country association.
