Essay

What are the main points you would convey to stakeholders to most effectively emphasize the importance of using a structured systems analysis approach for the project?

It is important for stakeholders to know that a structured system analysis is essential before implementing any technology structures in the organization. Structured system analysis enables management to enhance the data model selected because this in itself is a significant precursor to designing any data base system. Importantly, the process develops from a feasibility study whereby technology scientific strategies will be applied in determining whether it is the right time and appropriate system to be implemented (Cashman, S., Rosenblatt, 2013).

For example, if an information system is installed in an organization prior to conducting a system analysis validating that it is suitable; the organization could afford to maintain its function and staff is equipped with basic knowledge for operating these systems, then the entire project will begin with unresolved issues and an  unprepared  service model.  It is imperative that  the community for which it was intended receives the best quality service and money is not wasted (Whitten & Bentley, 2005).

Perhaps, the organization may want to install an electronic health records system. Without conducting a structured system analysis no one will know if the organization inclusive of staff is equipped emotionally for this transformation in their list of duties. A structured system analysis would offer a detailed evaluation of all elements that would be affected and offer recommendations on how to address them when they surface after implantation (Cashman & Rosenblatt, 2013).

How would you prioritize them in terms of importance?

Therefore, the importance according to priority begins with a feasibility study. This is integral towards determining if the organization can accommodate the implementation within the anticipated time frame. Then the scope of the project must be defined and specific boundaries regarding where the process will occur, when it will begin and who will be the main participants responsible for installing; operating after installation and maintaining the system subsequently when vendor leave. Further a problem; requirements and decision analysis will be conducted in the order mentioned above (Priest & Borella, 1998).
