Inequality among human individuals living in a particular community is something that is believed to be a regular part of modern human living. Paul Krugman’s article on Confronting Inequality tries to explore different issues related to the matter and how such issues affect the modern communities surrounding the general national structure that the United States is determinably known for. In this article, he points out that the real problem lies in the manner by which wealth is distributed in the market. The division of labor and the division of pay-grade has definitely created a distinct connection with the manner by which wealth is distributed among members of the community. This type of labor division basically insists that the wealthier individuals remain to receive the larger scope of the distribution while the laborers receive the least share of the available wealth resource.
How could this matter be resolved? Krugman points out that there are different matters that should be given attention to especially when mandating the management of the operation that needs to establish a better sense of what is meant by effective community development. One aspect to be given attention to is the development of individuals into becoming more effective in how they handle their roles in the community as source of social competence. Herein, it is the determinable utilization of education as a shield against poverty and social inequality is to be given attention to. Since pay grades are based on educational attainments, the skills and the talents that the individuals have could be further improved through good educational systems that are established by the government, thus making wealth distribution a little bit more balanced especially in relation to how each person is being measured according to his capacity of improving social development. The step towards engaging the society in constructive operations of development entails the effective use of education as an effective element that could help the members of the society realize the value of their being accordingly. Another step distinctively considered by Krugman in his writing is that of the implication of good public policies that would protect the rights of each individual towards fair access to work opportunities. This would entail the creation of policies that posts great consideration on how the needs and demands of workers are protected accordingly and their access to public services is given particular attention to.
These educational implications are definitely going to make a change on how individuals embrace the opportunities opened for them to embrace. Relatively, it could be noted that when it comes to improved essence of social building, Krugman’s ideas do provide a more distinct process of empowering each person to empower the community as a whole. This approach is considered effective as it enables people to become more efficient in playing the role that they are expected to take into account with full capacity to mandate a beneficial insistence on how they are to contribute to the development of the society they are living in. Practically, the education that a person receives could be best used to improve a well-defined goal for an individual that further increases their capacity to face the challenge of living in a modern world. As observed from the article of Krugman, the resolution to the major issues that the world needs to deal with, especially in relation to how inequality cannot be controlled among members of the community could be taken into account especially in determination of how education could be further improved especially on how such system is implied to empower the people and their capacity to take their role specifically in consideration to how they contribute to the being of the society they are embracing. With regards the implication of public policies towards equal chances to equal work opportunities, it could be understood that good management of resources would be best applied in this aspect of development. This step would be effective enough in support of the educational development that the society is expected to take into account. With good education and good public policy directed to common laborers, the distribution of wealth and the diminishing demarcation line between the rich and the poor could be balanced accordingly.
Noticeably, this matter implicates a sense of determination on how the role of individuals creates a massive intention on how the whole society advances accordingly. Seeing the importance of individual roles in the social system shall provide a more distinct structure of resolution that the community could best depend upon. Educational improvement does provide an effective way of resolving the matter as empowering the people would entail the distinct manner by which the social systems could be empowered as well.
