Confucianism Influence in China, Essay Example

One of the world’s most renowned philosopher named Kong Qui, who is better known as Confucius born in the Lu state of China. His teachings have been preserved in Analects consisting of model societies, self-discipline, morality, values, and educational principles. (Biography.com, 2014). The life of Confucius lives on today in China and Asia as well as in the United States and many other countries. The primary appeal of Confucius that each of his quotes or philosophy has a way of touching a person’s soul while helping those that believe that self-development can lead to social rest and loving thy neighbor can truly change the world if we all followed Confucius lead. Confucius teachings is the only doctrines that have not been labeled definitely as a religious cult trying to convert the world because the Chinese sector believes this is the only way to live. In true form to Confucius teachings is succeeding in life while maximizing  your personal potential to excel in this world without any barriers but yourself. Confucius is quoted as saying, “That everyone should possess the will to win while finding the internal desire to succeed at all cost. Each person should reach deep to find your full potential in life. Those that dare to explore your full potential will unlock the keys to life or“A person can easily make a decision to hate someone which is the easy way out however, those the dare to love will see it is very difficult. In the end, you learn from hate and love to finally understand that good things are hard to get and bad things in life are easy to do(BrainyQuotes, 2014). It is apparent the appeal of these simple doctrines has a tremendous impact on the Chinese and Asian people. These few quotes have such a deep meaning that every person that reads those words gain hundreds of years of wisdom in just a sentence. That is the appeal of Confucius.

Confucius was one of the most influential Chinese teacher, philosopher, and political figure,whom was not a religious leader promoting any specific religion. His expressionsacknowledge the heavens as the authority over the world’s domain. Consequently, Confucius believed that heaven in the way of moral order that governs all human life. He promoted social morals to the world with an ideology of “ren which his loving your fellowman using self-discipline while exhibiting values of respect, compassion,love, and social responsibility.

There are many reasons why Confucius affected the Chinese and Asian people such as it was culture based, Confucius as a living example of the teachings, the government making the Confucius way of life the state philosophy. In addition, each country had many years of wars and conquering other countries, which open the door for the Chinese and Asian people to spend time seeking harmony in the midst of world wars that killed millions. One the primary reasons is Confucius teachings were not and are not religion, which allowed Chinese and Asian people to accept these teachings because they had a choice but more importantly it was about culture and tradition. The Chinese and Asian families passed down generations of tradition from their previous ancestors, which they take great pride. The children and the great, great, great grandchildren of China and Asian have thousands of Confucius teachings that can be documented by each clan, which a source of empowerment, honor and respect. The followers of Confucius have the entire lives immersed in Confucius teachings because it has been proven to build the foundation of any family, which makes them learn to be better citizens, better wives, better husbands, better neighbors, and find peace in self-explorations.

Confucianism has an impact on China and Asia because it is describe as anideology, a philosophy, social and ethical doctrines which are notconsidered atraditional religion.There are many arguments whether Confucianism is a religion or not but it cannot be denied the powerful cultural influence on the Chinese and Asian countries including Japan, South Korea and Vietnam. Confucius appealed to the Chinese and Asian familiesbecause his philosophy respects the balance of social responsibility, familystructure, and respect.The Chinese and Asia have thousands of years of rich tradition of culture that is built on the family unit as the most thing in life. The secondary reason that Confucius teachings influence China and Asia was because Confucianism is not a religion. The world perceives and confuses Confucius teachings as religious. There are Confucius teachings of ethical, moralities, philosophical and spiritual doctrines that allow the Chinese and Asian populations to choose rather than forced into a way of thinking. In addition, Confucius life was an example of these doctrines are the core values for the Chinese and Asian nations. The third reason Confucius influenced the Chinese and Asian people are that could believe in a living philosopher who was living the life of the doctrines. Confucius influence over the Chinese people was supported by the Chinese government allowing the Chinese culture to flock to the doctrines.

The emperors contributed to Confucianism being spread across the world because they wanted the Chinese way of life to affect the world. In any government there is opposition against the primary beliefs of a country, however, Confucius doctrines were made the official Chinese state philosophy. The Confucius Analects soon became immersed in the Chinese way of life including education, morality, government, private, public, and culturally accepted. The government allowed the doctrines of Confucius were to spreadaround China to ensure all citizens would be able to hear and accept his teachings.

It was documented that the emperor was so impressed with Confucius philosophy that his made his doctrines the state’s official philosophy (Cultural China, 2007).Confucianism then affected everything in China; education, government, public, and private attitudes and, etiquette. Confucianism is not a religion, but a philosophy and a guide to morality and good government.There is no doubt that the Confucius effect on Asian and the Chinese way of life in still continued in the modern area of China. The government is trying to ensure they never lose the true mean of Confucius teachings but the modern day Chinese are making if difficult because they want a choice other than Confucius doctrines.

The influences of Confucius’ philosophy on Chinese and Asian people were designed to improve the character and conduct by following the doctrinescalled Analects. The Analects consist of four major principals such as personal conduct, personal loyalty, truth, and behavior. These principles remain as a main stay in China and Asia because they are in line with their personal belief of family first, community second, family clan, and country. Confucianism has the same familiar hierarchy that exists in China and Asia. The foundationof Confucius’ philosophy encouragerationalthinking andconstructed to empowereach individual to find his own internal self which will pave the way to outstanding character that is above approach.

The Chinese and Asian population has always searched for a deeper meaning of life for thousands of years. However, it was Confucius who created a way of thinking that influence both cultures to accept the doctrines. The primary reason the Chinese and Asians are drawn into Confucius dynamic philosophy isthat it summarizes the entire Chinese and Asian culture way of life. It is a living documentary of how the Chinese lived in society and how they continue to live under Confucius way of life. The first reason Confucius has some influenced is that he was Chinese and born in the culture of the Chinese history. He became the most adored philosopher in the world, which made China very proud.

Another reason that Confucius influence some many Asians and Chinese is because both countries had years of disparity with wars, political changes, dynasty rising and falling which allowed the people to get away from that turmoil but learning the self-discovery of Confucius harmony doctrines. The harmony of war and Confucius teachings help lead the Chinese through times of war. The world adversaries believe the adoption of Confucius way of thinking would make them non-violent while not willing to conquer another country.

In times of war, the Chinese homeland was in chaos with the change of leaders brought about philosophical and institutional changes, which caused the Chinese and Asian to gravitate towards inner-peace. The Chinese had some many dominant philosophies that emerged during all the different dynasties such as The Qin Dynasty, The Han Dynasty, Three Kingdoms, The Jin Dynasty, The Tang Dynasty and The Sui Dynasty to name a few(China Highlights,2014). . As you can see, the Chinese people did endure different philosophy but they all come from the foundation of Confucianism such as Daoism, and Moism which known had the same impact of Confucius teachings. The media reports on the new regime and modern culture of China and Asian that are trying to change the way of thinking of the population, however, they will find Confucius teachings are embed in the fabric of the cultures of China and Asia. The module culture may be able to gain some more rights or find their voice about how they feel the government should function or even complained about which philosophies should be followed. Conversely, the Confucius way of living has managed to live through many different dynasties, social groups and even other religious factions against Confucius teachings but it is obvious that the influenced of his teachings will be here until the end of time.
