The article Shrouded in Contradiction by Gelareh Asayesh talks about a young woman who grew up in Islam and later moved to Florida, the young woman discusses the negativity she faces walking around in her new clothing as well as the ugly stares that she got. She also goes on to talk about how her growing up in Islam and her spending time in Florida has changed her in a variety of ways such as how she conducted herself and what she should not wear while she is walking around in Florida lest she send the wrong message. For example, a young woman told her to take off that turban. The woman telling the story felt like she was being treated like a criminal because she wanted to do something different from everyone, do something that she would not be able to do in her old country. In the end, she feels empowered by the choice she made when she moved to Florida.

Muslims wanted job opportunities that they could not find in their own country. In the end, Muslims and Dutch are both impacted by the devastating change that has happened to their homeland.

The ‘Green Room’ as in accordance with the author is described as the curling part of the wave which is at the extreme top of the wave. The author supports the main idea of his manual by pointing out the importance of getting and staying on your feet while you are on the board, the author also gives very helpful tips on how to properly stay on the surfboard without falling off even talks about different poses that a person should stand in order to keep from falling off the board. The tube ride is the most important part of the essay and the author illustrates that by talking about the severity of the tube ride in order to successfully ride a surfboard. In the end, the author did what he set out to do which is to properly educate someone on how to surf.
