Words: 311

Essay

Crabapple is one of the plants found in the kingdom angiosperms. The plant has true roots, stems, leaves and flowers.  Its stems provide support for the plant and operate as a medium of nutrients and water by transporting them within the plant system. The plant encloses its seeds in the protected chambers known as the ovaries. Crabapple has triploid nucleus within the central part of the sac that divides occasionally to create a triploid tissue known as the endosperm.

The endosperm stores starch and other food particles for the plants survival. This comes as a result of double fertilization that takes place within the plants. Its seeds contain sporangium, embryo, endosperm and the seed coat which are created by the outer layer of an ovule. In this case, the ovary turns to fruit as the ovules results into the seeds. These seeds join together to form a fruit that attracts the fruit eating organisms to feed on them. The ovary develops to form a fruit that protects the inside part of the seeds.

The Crabapple has an edible fruit that enables the animal to consume with no any harm and thereafter disperse it some miles away from the mother plant. Its flowers are structured with color in order to attract the pollinators and make people to grow it all over the place.

The plant has long traechids with tapered cells which helps in the mechanical support and water transportation within the plant. It has the adventitious roots that ensure that it is firmly supported in the soil. The roots also help in the absorption of the mineral salts as well as the water that is required by the plant for transportation. The plant has several small leaves that helps reduce the transpiration process which ensures that the plant does not loss too much of water. The water is always saved waiting the summer season.
