Vessey, J. A., DeMarco, R..F., Gaffney, D. A., & Budin, W. C. (2009). Bullying of staff registered nurses in the workplace: a preliminary study for developing personal and organizational strategies for the transformation of hostile to healthy workplace environment. Journal of Professional Nursing, 26(5): 209- 306.

This journal article describes some of the bullying that occurs for registered nurses in the workplace. It discusses some of the bullying that occurs, who does the bullying and how it can be prevented. To explain further, “a 30-item anonymous electronic survey was used to identify the frequency, type, perpetrators, and personal and professional consequences of bullying” (Vessey, J. A., DeMarco, R.F., Gaffney, D. A., & Budin, W. C., 2009, p. 1). By completing this survey, nurses were able to give their feedback on the reasons for bullying in the workplace and provide ways in which this could be prevented.

Based on the questions in the text book, this article is a credible source. The source is from the Journal of Professional Nursing which is an organization that is recognized. In addition, the source is listed under a reputable domain and is published in both print and online as a peer-reviewed journal. Unfortunately, it is not easy to tell whether the source is accessed by a large number of people; however, it can be assumed that it is due to the fact that it is written in a professional journal used by many nurses and medical staff. The source is not directed towards extremists and does not only represent one side of the story. In addition, the source is current as it was written within the last 10 years (in 2009 to be exact). The source is also well-written, edited, and properly formatted. Therefore, making the source even more credible. Finally, the source is moral and ethical as it simply explains bullying in the workplace, is documented with a survey taken by many registered nurses, and provides ways in which to prevent the bullying from occurring.
