Crime and Justice Research, Essay Example

Words: 244

Essay

The increase of justice system innovation in the diversionary and jurisprudential areas, makes it important to remember that they are generally aimed at addressing fundamental causes of offending. Consequently, the diseconomies of scale necessitate the a reconsideration of specialist courts and an endeavour to mainstream the outcomes and benefits attained by these specialist courts. That is why the question of researching courts’ diversionary programs, their common aspects, and key factors that are likely to increase their success rates, are very important for the future. It will not be satisfactory to know that the court simply works well, but why it works well in a particular region and what can affect its effectiveness if it was located somewhere else. However, the predominant number of such programs is dependent on certain personalities who are driving them. Thus, the overall success can be more related to the particular style of the presiding judicial officer than the model itself; therefore it has to be carefully analyzed. Moreover, we will need to know how the effect of co-operation between the participants in criminal justice system is measured, as well as the best ways to promote co-operation. Thus, it will help to identify the most effective programs and key levers to reducing reoffending. Eventually, we have to understand the complexities of our current system and processes as they influence each and every individual.
