Blanck (1996) reported that Sears has been known to employ the largest number of people with both mental and physical disabilities. Other companies are afraid to do this because they fear that their return rates might go down because people with disabilities are an extra package to deal with. However Sears has come up with advanced technologies and mentoring skills that they use to help improve the output of employees with disabilities.

Electronic charts or documents are used in cases where employees have hearing impairment. Blanck (1996) reported that the electronic documents help the employees who can not fully comprehend a conference meeting to get the agenda of the meeting in writing which is often in front of big screens. The employees who are blind should use voice monitors which help in the work area because when an employee needs to do a certain work he can also use voice recognition programs which makes the work of blind employees’ easier. For the employees who are in wheel chairs, special elevators should be are designed so that they can move in the work area with ease. Blanck (1994) reported that for those employees who are sometimes mentally disabled, there is computer software that works best at the blink of an eye. This program is useful when the employee with mental case can be harmful when he or she touches the equipments at work.

Other ways of improving the lives and goals of disabled employees at work is through counseling where the employees should be advised that they are also essential in the company and that their goals in life are very important to the whole company. Through mentoring and coaching, disabled employees can be taught how to adjust to change and how to use technology to improve their efficiency at work. The best employees a company can have are the disabled people because they work harder than the normal people. This is because they want to fit to the world and if they work at a slower pace they will be left behind. It is clear that disability is not inability due to their efforts.
