Criminal Justice: Home Assignment, Essay Example

Essay

It is my opinion that the key factors in youth development and behavior are embedded in the socialization process to which youths are exposed. These are dominated by the state in United States of America, family in less developed countries and hereditary factors when home and environment are excluded. Consequently, for countries such as the U.S, which have imposed restrictions on parents disciplining their children using traditional methods we should not rely totally on the justice system to control our youth when things go wrong.

Importantly, time after time it has been proven that in United States there no justice system executing justice for youth who happen to fall within a certain ethic group or social background. Therefore, parents should regain their authority to ‘train up the child in the way the child should go’ and there will be no need for the justice system which is not fair because youth will learn first to obey their parents. Precisely, the foundation of this development begins with state instructing parents how to train their children, who have become abusive to parents and delinquent.

As a correctional officer confiscating disabled items while in jail for me is cruel. They are being punished twice for a crime. The argument is that they do not need them while being incarcerated but in a fair justice system there must be some form of mobility. In correcting this injustice perhaps, correction officers could petition for inmates since at that point in time they have no voice and ther world is against them even the justice system. A screening policy determining the extent of mobility needs should be enforced whereby inmates are awarded privileges to use, specially, designed prison friendly of disabled devices replacing the ones that were taken away. This is an inhumane practice imposed by the justice system.
