Critiquing Artwork, Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 267

Essay

Art is an inborn talent. An artist takes time to think and come up with something presentable. Painting and drawing, for example is a challenging career that brings out different ideas from the audiences. While an artist may think he/ she done the best, another person may take the artwork as rubbish or rather nonsense, while someone else would take it so dearly.

Having developed an interest in drawing people, I came up with the following artwork. It is an artwork of a person deep inside the sees, who is contemplating on whether to swim or not. The water is calm, but the person seems to have some fear. The artwork does not seem to have some deeper meaning, and again, being an artwork revolving around water, the best color to use would be blue. The framework is not very clear and the whole art does not look like a final copy but just a draft. However, for a beginner who has a passion of drawing then it is a good trial, which could score a grade C.

My friend here has a passion for adventure and thus comes up with a drawing for a person who seems lost in the wilderness. There seems to be no particular path to follow and the confused fellow looks behind just to confirm wherever he/she comes from. It is an above average drawing, whose background representing a desert. One cannot tell clearly, what the surrounding made of; whether grass, trees, or shrubs. However, as much as it could be difficult to get the inner meaning, the artwork would score a C+ grade.
