Interview Overview

The store supervisor of Texas Thrift Stores, Logan, Scrubber described the core value of the shop as: “Never ever buy anything new”. The store was committed to keeping prices low to engage with customers and generate more sales towards the mission. The strength of the store, according to a customer interviewed Monica Cervantes said “I am impressed by their new room in front and the clothing racks have been spaced out more, it let more space for the fitting room”. She was happy that the great customer service and lower than average prices the store had offered.

The revenue streams of the store were identified as: sale of merchandise, auctions, donations, and special events.

During the interview,  Logan, Scrubber stated that community involvement was important in all revenue streams. Without engagement, the store would not have a constant supply of merchandise to sell. The management used special events and auctions to create awareness of the thrift store within the local community.
