Database Design Using Life Cycle Concepts, Research Paper Example

Pages: 1

Research Paper

Database designs follow a pattern intended for production of information storage mechanism. In making this possible designers must take into consideration the length of time data is expected to be stored. In describing this technology using life cycle concepts is to first identify that there may be valuable similarities and differences in database cycles and other cycles of other disciplines, which must be taken into account. Database designs entailsa process (Teorey, Lightstone & Nadeau, 2005).

However,  some life cycles are not manmade interventions.   Database designs are detailed data models in the same way a life cycle is a model pertaining to length and activities of the entity. A logical data models allow for logical and physical pattern choices. Besides, the required physical storage essentials put each feature together in specified life cycle patterns. Database designs are generated in a data definition language. This language is utilized in creating the data base properties. Detailed attributes for every entity is a similarity identified between database designs and life cycle structures (Teorey et.al, 2005).

It is important to note that databases do have life cycles of their own distinct from similarities or differences of a human/business life cycle. The life cycle design concepts create the language. Importantly, the conceptual schema is an essential aspect of the data base design. It requires that the designer understand where the dependency of data must be placed in a database. This life cycle concept is relevant to all life cycles whether computer databases or otherwise. Logically structuring  of the data is another significant part in the database desgin life cycle. This failitaes accesibleity when there are numerous end-users (Teorey & Lightstone, 2009).
