Debate Reverberates Going Into Final Stretch, Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 332

Essay

This article covers the current Republican nomination for running for president and the issues that these candidates face. This article does bring up many ethical elements which are not only crucial for the reader but for the society as a whole. The society needs to look up to the president so it is important that these candidates behave according to standards in order to set the example. The main issue that was covered was Mitt Romney’s offer to bet $10,000 to another Republican presidential candidate and current governor of Texas, Rick Perry.

The opposing idea that one could evolve is justifying the issue of $10,000 bet. The question is whether or not Mitt Romney meant it in a gambling way or did he do that in order to show how confident he is. The single question would be: Is Mitt Romney’s offer to bet a justifiable action or not?

I believe that the next article that will be a follow up to this article (I am sure there will be at least a follow up on the issue of Republican presidential nomination) would be whether or not Mitt Romney prevailed in this battle and whether or not Newt Gingrich stayed on top as the most likely nominee. The background of this article is about the unending search of the Republican presidential nominee which every day becomes more and more confusing. It is normal to have these issues about presidential candidates arise as they want to have as much public media time as possible, otherwise known as “photo op”

The larger issue that should looked at as more in a broader sphere is that many people look up to the president and it is the president that shows others around the world the image of his country. The question is whether or not Mitt Romney is allowed to have such jokes up in the podium. Other issues that are clearly stated with this current issue are the current economic crisis, 2012 presidential elections, economic recovery, etc.
