Introduction of the Research

This paper is based on the design project for a National Park in UK. The information provided on this national park is taken from Ditch ling Beacon in South Downs. The park’s main aim is to promote protection of landscape and sustainable living. There are many potential visitors like school parties, cyclists, walkers, members of the heritage organization, families that would help build a visitor center in this area. The park includes the area which is housing unique like the Site of Social interest Scientific (SSSI) and includes the plants of rare species. The terrain of the park is wooded partly and have grassland of open chalk. The main characteristic of this park is that it is built on a large hill and it is founded by archeological remains. The park is built on the historical iron-age hill fort. The reason for selecting the hill area is that it gives a panoramic view over the countryside and a clarified vision of directions from miles. The park area is popular with cyclists and walkers and the route of this park is an ancient route.

The park generates profit that are used for conservation by selling snacks and refreshments to visitors. This is achieved using variety of ways for instance, refreshment trolleys and stall that are mobile. This project will talk about the undertaking and design of the refreshments design of this park. The car parking and center of the park needs a system that is used for recycling and waste collection which the visitors generate. So the design and layout will be for the recycling project. The implementation of this project will help to encourage the visitors to dispose and separate the materials appropriately. So, the major aim of the project will be achieved i.e. to create sustainable development and protecting the landscape. Apart from recycling, the part also offers recreational activities like playful engagement and playgrounds. This will help to attract visitors of different ages and it is very crucial that it should engage kids and young visitors to fuel their enthusiasm with sustainability, conservation and landscape. In order to design this project either an equipment piece, a game for sale or an ‘exhibit’ will be built with which the children can interact with each other. These options selected will be used in this paper to design the park and will be related to encouraging a fun and playful approach to children. On the other hand, also fulfilling the main objectives of the park i.e. promoting and conservation a sustainable environment.

The research methods used will be to collect primary and second hand data from online scholarly resources. The user requirements identified and they are creating a park that offers recreational and fun activities. Also, keeping in mind the main goal of the project to sustain the environment and landscape. The park needs to be designed in such a way that it also helps the disabled persons. Because, the park is built on a steep slope and rough terrain, so visiting the park by disabled person can be a challenge. So, this research will also find the solutions and designating the park in such a way that it facilitates the elderly and the disabled persons. The park aims to enhance the visiting experience of every age group. The project aims to conserve the city’s biological diversity. For this purpose, it is working in collaboration with the Site of Social interest Scientific (SSSI) and Environment preservation organization to develop a master plan that will help in the designing of a recreational park in UK. The most suitable location for this part is based on a hill as it will give a good view of the city from miles. The site of this park is around 176 hectares and is in close proximity to the Amusement City. It comprises of exotic plant and nature diversified species. Apart from that, the park will also provide recreational and educational facilities for those who wants to study these species. This Eco-park will comprise of a Botanical Garden that presents the base concept of manpower needs, park management, layering the ground, irrigation requirements and an action wok plan for supporting the development designs. The survey of the area shows a good potential for the recreational and ecofriendly par. The objectives of establishing this park are summarized;

  • Providing research and educational opportunities in the landscaping filed
  • Public awareness promotion on the plants conservation and volunteering public information for action.
  • Providing opportunities for entertainment, passive recreation and cultural activities
  • Building facilities that helps in research of culture and different plant species
  • Proportion of ornamental plants for gardening and landscaping.
  • Helping the elderly and the disabled by providing support persons

This project is divided into five sections. One is the designing of the concept of the park. The second section shows the layout of the parl. The third section is about the materials and the making of the park. The last section is the designing of the proposal for the park. The project emphasizes more on the conservation efforts for promoting a health and safe environment. The site master program and plan establishes the eco-park and the botanical garden assisting people in the community with research and recreation.

Concept Design of the Park

The analysis of the elements and design helps facilitating the garden elements in the park. The initial activities of design are grouped into site zones and general categories. These comprises of suitability studies, compatibility matrices and the preparation of schematic bubble diagrams for the site land as shown in the concept design figure. In order to create an Eco-friendly park and with recreational activities, the idea is to build a Botanical garden. The area requirements for this eco-park and garden are then estimated and also for the building of facilities. These also includes the use of preliminary estimate of budget and design purposes. The Master plan of the site incorporates the element of the garden program and the analysis of the site factors. The idea is to disseminate and increase the knowledge about the eco system which preserves the flora of UK comprising of the endangered species. This also will help develop an educational experience and the awareness of conservation of the environment. In order to create a botanic garden facility, an Eco park has to be designed. The need for an environmental friendly park is protect the environment from both the internal abuse and pollution which are the external forces. These all have a deteriorating impact on the environment of UK. So, the concept of this park is designed in such a way that it helps conserve the environment Full acceptance and acknowledgement of the sensitive development of ecosystem, environmental preservation and sustainable design concept have been developing slowly in the national landscape of UK. The recent urban expansion phase has deteriorated the environment.

Constant updating of the concept of park has become evident reality for many European countries.  Attracting considerable creativity of architects and designers, park construction is rapidly evolving and brings more and more interesting concepts of organization environment to relax in natural surroundings.  Perhaps this is due to the implementation of numerous large-scale projects of new parks in Europe landscaping was quite a powerful impetus for its development and a radical revision of the language formation.  There have been significant changes in traditional approaches to creating songs park spaces.  But it remains the same desire to constantly expand a set of tools to help achieve the figurative expression.  Searching for original ideas that provide maximum aesthetic effect and at the same time retain the functional meaning of park space. The concept design approach to designing spaces Gardens series based on a certain number of color to ensure the transition to a new, revealing the decorative possibilities of natural materials, the level of scenario modeling the landscape.  Ascetic conciseness turf surface stalls deliberately contrasted with saturated colors of nature narrow spaces Gardens series, emphasizing the contrast of black and white void and ordering the color rhythm collision macro and microspheres.  Integration of the landscape, with all the variety of subjects its individual fragments is made possible largely due to the predominance of figurative beginning in landscape design.  That it provides, along with aesthetic expressiveness park forms a symbiosis of nature and architecture. European practice for the past decades characterized by a change in orientation activities.  Create a flexible model of developing space with the possibility of updates and additions parkland.  Free transformation prevail over rigid regulation functions.  This is reflected in the approach to planning organization of parks that take into account the natural evolution of ideas about receptions harmonize the landscape.  Orientation to the so-called open plan, allowing the spatial transformation of parkland, accompanied by a significant change in the nature of human habitation in the park.  There is a shift from a predominantly contemplative to the active recreational activities.  As a consequence of this qualitative change in the use of the park increases the degree of freedom of movement of visitors outside the contour road and path network. Accordingly expanding system platforms and surfaces that are adapted for different types of activities.

Layout Design

The conceptual meaning of modern landscape design is to identify an individual visual code of park spaces.  It is created at the expense of non-traditional, sometimes paradoxical combination of natural and artificial landscape components.  Appeal to the emotions of the park visitor, the desire to tell something new is manifested in the use of certain symbols and associative content elements of the landscape.  Among the most interesting objects in this aspect of the past decades, it should be noted Citroën Park in Paris is the absolute antithesis of the traditional landscape park construction.

There exists full of contrasts spaces of various sizes, shapes and clash of color key elements of the landscape in this case holds the emotional stress of any incoming person offering it as you move a series of paintings with different subjects.  Directing park subordinate to the idea enhance the visual impact culminating point of the composition.  To achieve this they concentrated all the features of landscape design, including a change in the geometry of the relief, plastic and color simulation of vegetation, construction of water devices and surfaces. Appeal to the period in the history of the place, when the territory of the future park was the production of organic dyes, was the basis for the original, with a wide range of color palette, interpretation Gardens Series. Developing the theme of color diversity environment, paint nature in the form of natural vegetation shades appeared before the visitors in the Landscape “series” as carriers of individual subjects gardens: Blue, Green, Orange, Red, Silver, Gold, White and Black.

The concept of designing a botanical garden for the Eco Park development will offer the resources and means to help turn the tide on the awareness of environment in UK. This park will provide various opportunities to develop the plant species that is native and help sustain the horticultural use of flora. The concept design of the park will also comprises of deciduous shade trees, an open area playground, irrigated native seed, plaza area, skating area, landscape boulders, pet station and botanical garden as we can see in the picture. Open play ground and plaza will help serve the purpose of recreational activities in this park. The use of deciduous shaded trees, pet area and botanical garden will help preserve the environment.

In order to research and study the byproducts of beneficial plants, the public needs to be educational on the interrelation of human and plants. The eco-park will help restore the habitats that are sensitive, endangered species and preserving the natives. It will also provide the lab format of the living special creating awareness in the public of the latest regeneration methods, sustainable technologies and other concepts related to issues in environment. The park concept design serves as the futuristic model for recreational development and environmental friendly parks aiding the natural resources and environment conservation of UK. The concept design promotes the objectives of horticultural technology. In short, this project gives unlimited opportunity for research advancement and science in the passive setting of recreational education.
