Information and communication technology is a promising field in both business and organizational management, and has become a major tool for trade in various organizations. Companies that deal with provision, installation and maintenance of computer and allied technology such as software on PCs, cell phones, servers as well as software applications need to have highly qualified employees if the company is to provide high quality services.

With this regards, the employees will have solve a range of issues, problems and tasks associated with hardware and software. For example, customers wish to get the best software and hardware that bets matches their needs, yet they do not know where to get them, or their specifications. In this case, the employees must first recognize the customer’s needs and the current situation (Jones, 2007). They must then analyze these needs to decide on the best way to solve them. The designers must look at the current situation, and the improvements that are needed in the customer’s premises. With this knowledge, they will develop a checklist of specifications, with which they use to decide on the best design for the customer. Installation of the software on the customers’ gadgets requires adequate knowledge and experience, and therefore the technicians must be aware of the customers’ needs, and the items specifications. Another issue associated with this service is the provision of operation specifications and information to the clients. In this case, the company will have to hire qualified ICT proficient employees whose task shall be to educate employees on the use, maintenance and care of the software and hardware in their premises (Jones, 2007).

The company expects to employ various specific strategies to achieve its goals. Based on the above specifications for the customers’ requirements, the company will employ certain work methods and procedures in all its operations. For instance, three types of operating systems will be employed; small batch production, flexible production and mass production (Khanna, 2007). In the small batch production system, the company expects to employ an OS to allow it make one-of-a-kind and small quantity of customized software and hardware. Our customized products will be designed to match our customers’ needs in the market place. For mass production, the company will strive to create large number of standardized consumer products, which shall include identical software for general consumer cell phones and PC computers. Flexibility will be considered to ensure that the customers’ satisfaction is achieved (Khanna, 2007). In this case, the company will used advanced operating systems in Linux and Windows that will combine the benefits of mass production with those of small batch production.

The company will strive to ensure that all its employees work towards fulfilling the company’s goals. They are expected to work within the period and specifications that both the customer and the company may outline. To ensure this, the company will develop tight work schedules and monitoring systems (Jones, 2007). For example, employees will be assigned parts of the work that they are proficient in. employee teams will be developed to ensure that is enough room for brainstorming ideas, especially in designing and problem solving. To coordinate employee activities, these groups will be assigned certain parts of the task, and will be expect to complete it within a given time framed. These teams will be directly supervised in some instances, while at other times; the company will have to standardize the outputs, skills and the work processes (Khanna, 2007).

To control OMM costs and yet provide excellent customer service, the company will strive to increase its innovations, productivity, quality and responsiveness to the customers throughout the cities it will be in operation (Jones, 2007). To ensure this is in place, the company will lower its inventory costs, reduce time spent on processing the customer orders and improve ways for using resources. In addition, the company will strive to correct the errors in the number of processed order, purchase high quality inputs and ensure there are consistent reliable products (Jones, 2007).
