Developments in Laws on Induced Abortion, Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 310

Essay

My moral stand on abortion relates to the fact that it has been said by great thinkers of morality that once we cannot give life none of us is entitled to taking it from any one. While we are not our brother’s keeper on this issue we can speak up for an entity that has no voice of its own, the unborn fetus or child in some instances, which it up to be murdered. This moral stand on this issue came for moral thinker and my religious background. From my religious perspective all life is sacred and should not be taken for granted conception is a gift of God which ought to be cherished and not abused (Boland  & Katzive, 2008).

The political party to which I am affiliated has alternative conceptions to my moral point of view. Most times politicians play games with respect to very sensitive matters as abortion. Often they leave supporters guessing what their real stand is because they are people pleasers However, it does not seem consistent with mine. It is highly likely that I would support a political party values are consistent with mine; my support would not waiver if all my values are not part of their platform (Burkhardt & Nathaniel, 2013).

In my opinion the government’s role in ethical and moral issues is to please the majority even if it may not be morally sound, but the ‘I’ always have the option as a politically sound decision. My position on abortion does influence how I will react to a woman seeking an abortion. I would not encourage it, but offer alternatives. If she insists then she will be referred to the most appropriate source.
