Correlations between deductive reasoning and abductive systems models

Cognitive research contributory to multi-dimensional scaling on artificial information projects must take into account temporal correlation between inductive and deductive reasoning. If inductive logic judgments are based on what is ‘similar,’ deductive reasoning is rooted in logical validity and processes of narrowing or elimination (Heit, 2010).  From the perspective of Psychology, the mere connection between the two reasoning patterns is of import. Furtherance of this distinction as those judgments are integrated into memory processes that do not just “know” but are restricted to “remember.” Mathematical modeling incorporates both factors of reasoning into logical conclusion, and there is a fundamental difference between inductive and deductive reasoning in calculation and “weighing” of information. Where deductive logic can be well perceived is in the deployment of validity reasoning as a method for informatics, or the refinement of abductive reasoning as seen in figure 1. First defined by Philosopher Charles Sanders Peirce (1839-1914), abductive logic is used in the development of internet search engines to increase user competency in information research (DeTienne, 2005). The natural pathway for deductive logic models, abductive reasoning, or “taking and educated guess” is denoted in the artificial systemization of information and interfaces with user logic processes (Ross, 2010). It is in the realm of artificial information that we are best able to observe speed of deduction and the impact of temporal constraints on reasoning. Insertion of the factor of time seems to force logic paths into a judgment framework parallel with inductive reasoning, in that similarity rather than validity increases in significance.
