Doctor of Business Administration, Essay Example

By definition a DBA is the abbreviation for Doctor of Business Administration which subsequently represents the highest academic level in education that an individual can attain in the field discipline of business administration. On the other hand, Ph.D. stands for Doctor of Philosophy. In other words, this means that an individual is taking a philosophical approach to education in one particular field discipline. One should duly note that the term abbreviated Ph.D. does not mean that philosophy is the only ground of study a Ph.D. covers in the learning process.

To peruse a doctoral degree entails quite a number of learning activities within the coursework. It involves a great deal of assignments and project undertakings beyond the master’s level. The ultimate coursework would involve the writing and submission of a dissertation having multiple numbers of pages to be presented to doctoral review committee. To achieve this goal as an individual, one has to go through an approximated four year program on the field study of their interest while in institution of higher education.

My professional goals are ultimately aimed at achieving the highest level of conducting research through the collection of data and information, performing of analysis and derivation of deductions and conclusions. This will eventually aid in the invention of new ideas and approaches to solving predominant problems within my field of study and the society in overall. The diversity between the two showcases that a PhD is more concentrated on the field of research and teaching career. On the other hand, a doctoral degree is supplementaryon the academic side of learning and is quite theoretical in nature. In the case of a doctoral degree, when completed, it usually engages in occupations other than teaching, unlike in Ph.D. Hence forth, the proficient goals for my career are aimed at achieving and acquiring the knowledge in my study field of interest.

The main driver to this decision is the need to attain career perspective supported by my motivation to face a personal challenge that would primarily and ultimately lead to business career. This challenge will offer the opportunity for motivational ambition that would expound on the available career opportunities as business gurus and professors who are successful in their career fields. The career prospects mentioned above also offer multiple likelihoods of being authors to research books and material via the development of new theories that is done through research. Likewise, the doctorate degree bids for higher jobs within a big business company hierarchy of managerial positions.

A Ph.D. is highly and clearly well-known and recognized worldwide and thus gives one the universal opportunity of being accepted as traditionally qualified researcher in the international scenario. This opens multiple career openings for an individual. A DBA depends on the academic institution in which it is achieved. If it a well renowneduniversity, for example, Harvard Varsity, then the doctorate may gain positive acceptance. Subsequently, the respective individual stands to gain from the higher recognition for the exceptional business schools and institutions.

Conclusively, given my career objectives, the advantages of perusing a Ph.D. come with surplus benefits which are universal to the global market in my particular study field of interest. The possibility for financial support during my study is highly probable when the particular university supports an individual in conducting and furthering their research and publication of findings which advantage the varsity reputation and public image.
