How should the criminal justice role be changed to handle both domestic and international terrorism?

In an effort to handle both international and domestic terror acts, criminal justice systems can be empowered to track down missing persons and handle complex investigations. Criminal justice role should be allowed to process all criminal evidence of terror and develop ways of giving support to victims of terror (Wilmot and Ness 14).

Terrorism is the worst enemy for human beings and policies of punishing terrorists should be developed in criminal justice. Countries have different concepts on terrorism, and states have failed to reach a common consensus on how to handle terrorism. States have different measures aimed at preventing acts of terror and punishing it. Therefore, establishing of anti-terrorism policy will meet different terror situations of concerned countries. This policy will be a fundamental work for criminal justice in any country. The growth of terror threat has affected the national security of many countries leading to a state of social instability (Wilmot and Ness 21).

A country should issue a declaration on its principles and anti-terrorism standpoint. Formulation of an anti-terrorism policy and the developing of an international anti-terrorism cooperation should be incorporated in the principles of criminal justice. This will enable countries to have a similar perspective of security with a concept of mutual trust and benefit. A country should establish fundamental policies of terrorism aimed at all forms of terrorism. A country’s criminal justice law should address all the symptoms and the root causes of terrorism in order to fight terrorism. Criminal justice should develop comprehensive measures aimed at combating terrorism. These policies should become guidelines for criminal justice in any country (Wilmot and Ness 23).

Is it a state and country issue?

Terrorism is both a state and a country issue. Terrorism destroys individuals’ peace of mind and society too. It hampers the overall the overall economic developments of any country. In the developing countries, terrorism has devastating and negative effects. It pushes the poor countries to become even poorer.

Conclusion

Communities in the entire world have are in support of counter terrorism programs aimed at bringing acts of terror to a halt. Countries such as Bangladesh have already signed a convention on terrorism with the UN. The entire world has been affected by terrorism, and we can only hope that people will be free from the evil acts.
