 Singulair

Also noted as the Montelukast, Singulair is noted for its capacity to maintain treatment for asthmatic patients. This particular drug is directed to relieve symptoms of asthma that is related to seasonal changes that also promote seasonal allergies. Although effective for allergic asthma treatment, it is often avoided when it comes to the need of treating acute asthma attacks. Because of the focused operation and specific function, this drug should only be used as prescribed by physicians. Relatively, it could only function for the regulation of the body’s reception of elements from the changing environment.

It is often used as complementary therapy, which means it is added to provide strength to another main source of medication. Acting alone as a medication would not bring out the best function that singulair is expected to perform for the patent. Some of the side effects of using Singulair include gastrointestinal disturbances, sleep disorders, tendencies of excessive bleeding and a possible higher incident of acquiring Churg-Strauss Syndrome. Another common effect of the drug upon intake is drowsiness.
