E-Commerce Website for Company ABC, Research Proposal Example

This project addresses the need for company ABC to design, implement and commission a new local e-Commerce web-site to allow our external customers to review, order, and purchase our products online 24/ 7.

Project benefits will include the following:          

• Global alignment with other regional ABC offices and their currently operating e-Commerce web-sites,
• Centralised technical support will be readily available from the regional support office located in India,
• Improved service to our local customers: both business and general public customers alike. Currently our local customers have only been able to purchase ABC products via our 5local store locations, which we have found to be inefficient and inconvenient to our customers.
• Improved productivity and enhanced revenue in our local area as a result from increased sales via the new Internet channel.

It is predicted that the project will take approximately 20 weeks to complete.

This project software technical delivery team shown above is well balanced, with a strong combination of leadership, business, and technical skills necessary to successfully deliver the regional online e-Commerce web-site.

Note: Project resources will be a combination of both external and internal resources.

High level cost breakdown:

Note that these costs are within a variance of +/- 25%. A more detailed task and cost breakdown will be establishedonce the project is commissioned by the ABC steering committee. The revised project estimated costs will then be calculated to within +/- 10%.

The project will hire a dedicated Project Manager to commence and initiate the following sets of tasks:

• Development of a detailed task, cost and resource schedules,
• Development of a Business Case and a detailed project definitiondocument.

Project meetings and reports will adhere to the following plan throughout the lifecycle of the project.
