Educational Philosophy Statement, Essay Example

Essay

To become a successful Educator and Teacher it is important to have a training that embraces more than the theoretical ideals.  A good teacher is a person that has a firm grasp  on the understanding and implementation of developmental stages.  It is the willingness to appreciate the learning styles of others and the self-determination  to help students achieve their educational goals.   The education of an individual is a determining factor of whether or not the student will succeed in life.  As such the teaching curriculum should be a flexible one in order to embrace different student learning styles.

The environment ( class room ) is the place where students should feel at home and as such the teacher makes this a place conducive to learning. It is considered that students will elevate or fall subject to the expectations that teachers and parents present to them.  It is therefore important to provide students with genuine challenges that are not unrealistic in accordance with their abilities. It is important to foster a relationship with the student in order to provide them with ample time to succeed as opposed to adopting a more rigid inflexible timetable that does not facilitate a true learning process.

The future of professional education is best portrayed by a partnership of collaboration between the student, teacher, parents  and the school community.  It is a shared responsibility in order to ensure the best possible educational outcome for the student.  Education should be built upon a foundation of trust and integrity between the partners involved.  Every student has the capacity and capability to make progress in Education. The teacher is the facilitator to make this happen and provide the student with the right amount of positive reinforcement, courage and creative skills to succeed.  As such I look at every student as an opportunity  to help them acquire knowledge and become successful in attainment of their educational goals.
