The Honorable _____________

Address

City, State Zip

Dear Congressman Rose,

My name is _____________, and I am a resident of __________, in your district. As a resident in your district, I am writing to you concerning an environmental concern and that is the conservation of energy to help save this planet, on which we all live, for future generations. I am an avid supporter of green initiatives to combat the negative effects of negative environmental externalities such as the use of fossil fuels as an energy source. Therefore, I am urging you to address this concern by supporting the implementation of the solar panel installation tax credit for qualified homeowners and businesses in this state.

Each day there is something in the news mentioning green initiatives in some way, and there are many people who are in favor of this movement, out of concern for our environment and also because we want to spend more economically. One way to help the environment and to be more economical is to support green initiatives such as the use of solar energy. This is important to environmentally-conscience businesses and residents, and I feel that it is important to encourage more people to become environmentally conscience as well. What better way to do this than to encourage residents and business owners in this state to use solar panels to harness energy from the sun to power their homes and businesses?

Additionally, I advocate using solar power as an alternative energy source to using fossil fuels because, unlike fossil fuels, solar energy will never run out or become obsolete. Also, the benefits of using solar energy include 1) Sustainability – Solar energy is a permanent, natural power source that is available for continued use and is completely renewable for fueling, heating water, and lighting, 2) Utility Independence – Using solar panels to generate solar power can potentially eliminate the need for total dependence on public utility companies for power 3) Efficiency – There is very little maintenance required to create solar energy, because when solar panels are up to maximum efficiency, they are very self-sufficient, and 4) Environmentally Green – There is no adverse mark on the environment caused by solar energy power facilities or  commercial or residential solar panels. There are zero emissions produced and they can store energy and produce power even when the sun is not shining, thus making their use even more efficient.

Your Honor, this state needs the solar panel installation tax credit to help and reward those who have already embraced the idea of using solar energy, and to encourage other residents and businesses to use solar energy. This would also benefit the economics of our state as well, and I feel a bill to implement the tax credit is the answer.

As a concerned citizen, I urge you to vote in favor of adding this bill to the docket. Thank you for your time in this matter and for your service. It is very much appreciated.

Respectfully,

Your Name
