The progress that has been achieved in the courtroom technology has undergone dramatic changes with regard to the manner of conducting court proceedings. In Seattle, Washington, King County Superior Court makes use of remote testimony with the use of video conferencing, presentation of evidence through the use of digital equipments, computer monitors that are used by the judges, the jurors, counselors and the witnesses. A wireless technology is also applicable in which case, a counselor access the office through internet connections which have been installed in all the courtrooms.

High levels of efficiency coupled with saving of time are a great requirement which consequently leads to a reduction of costs incurred in the courts. This has facilitated for increasing awareness of importance attributed to the use of computer technology during proceedings in the courts (Gregory, 1984).

Among the types of electronic equipment that are found in an electronic court includes a projector, laptop components as well as the projection screen. These are the most basic equipments that everybody can set up but more complexity in the equipments is added depending on the concerned parties as well as litigation. Other equipment of technology anticipated in the court include a camera for evidence presentation, a video printer, VCR, audio plus video connections, 42” plasma screen together with flat monitors and touch screen monitors equipped with capability at the witness stand and the podium. The court has also integrated some components of AV to serve the purpose of presentation. The most common places meant for connecting to the system include the counsel’s table along with the lectern (Agustí, 2009). Some wireless enhancements are also put in place to serve the purpose of improved listening assistance and interpreters that may be required by any party.
