Essay

One of the most significant steps to designing a room is planning. Considerations are the size of the room, the lighting of the room, the colors in the color scheme and the people who are going to be occupying the space. In order for a room to become organized, balance is required. In the consideration of the element of balancing the room there are three distinct approaches to select from. The first category of balancing the design elements in ta room is the symmetrical perspective. This is the most formal category of design and there is not a significant amount that is left to the imagination. In the conventional forms of design and architecture, there is substantial amount of symmetry.

The second classification of balance is symmetrical. This category of balance has a more casual approach and is encountered in modern interiors and conventional architecture. . The asymmetrical classification of balance is considered to be appropriate for the majority of settings and is the most liberal in the interior design of a room. The asymmetrical approach was selected in the kitchen, dining room, living room and bathroom areas. In the asymmetrical approach there is no central point in the room from which the balance is distributed. Consequently, the balance is reliant on the dimensions of the elements and their distribution. The third type of design style is radial. This type of design is founded upon the wheel. The balance emanates from the center of the room. It is the style which is used most infrequently. The arrangement of the living room is placed around a wheel where the coffee table is the core element in the room.

Two of the additional characteristics of the room’s layout are variety and  unity. Unity can be detailed in a similar manner as continuity and harmony. Unity is an important elements due to its capacity of being able to coordinate all of the elements in the room’s layout. In ensuring the walls being painted in the identical color or the application of the similar models of wood or furniture, unity is derived. Variety is applied in order to disrupt the monotony of unity. There are a number of distinct techniques which are applied in order to achieve variety.
