Essay

The role of the manager is important in the transfer of training process. Review Figure 5.2 on page 197 of your textbook and read about the levels of management support for training. Provide suggestions of how you would ensure the transfer of training by motivating managers to play a more active role in the process.

Most often than not, managers fail to consider the fact that during the training process, they are not simply there to supervise or see through the progress of the system. Nonetheless, they are expected to join in the practice and become mentors of their team. As shown in figure 5.2, managers ought to be the primary instructors of the program. Standing as the ones experienced in the job, managers are expected to take the role of mentors and not as leaders who only know how to command. Showing the team members how they are supposed to do something has been considered to be among the most effective approaches in employee training through the years.

Direct consideration with the needs of the team members for training also allow the managers to know their staff more fully thus giving them the chance to evaluate what is needed by each individual in order to develop personally in accordance with the course of progress that the entire organization wants to go through.

The close interaction and involvement of the manager from the point of scheduling the training activities towards the creation of a more remarkable procedure of assisting the employees or the staff to respond to their duties is an effective approach that entails the creation of a more responsive consideration towards the learning requirements of the people. With these elements given attention to, encouragement and motivation becomes a natural result that makes an impact on how each staff member shall perform later on.
