Words: 570

Essay

The main aim of the memo is to highlight the importance of biological experiments as a process of protecting the environment. It also urges the budget committee to allocate funds that will help in facilitating the experiments.

Global warming and unpredicted temperature changes have been a threat to the marine plants and animals. It has been declared as a disaster in many countries, and it should be dealt with immediate effect to save the lives of aquatic animals and avoid extinction of some species. Allocating enough funds to be used in biological experiments and other programs will help in addressing the situation. The funds will assist in contracting various companies to clean some wastes dumped in the oceans. The wastes might reach a point where the animals are exposed to extreme temperatures. The experiments will in devising ways of reducing the rising temperatures or even neutralizing the acidic content in the oceans and lakes.

Environmental research have indicated that climate changes, and marine pollution have caused serious problems on the aquatic plants and animals. Changes in temperatures in lakes, oceans, springs and rivers have forced the animals to migrate while others die to a level where some species are extinct. The plants may also die due to extreme temperatures. In addition, rising temperatures will alter the lifestyles of many animals of depend on water for reproduction. It is because; their lifecycles, behaviors, and metabolism are affected directly. Stormy water may cause destruction to the communities, animals and properties near the oceans when heavy rains falls. Most oceans and lakes become acidic due to increasing carbon dioxide released to the water as result human activities. Acidic oceans will make squid, fish, and other marine animals to have trouble when breathing. It is because the dissolved oxygen, which is necessary for their life, becomes difficult to extract due to acidic water. Lobsters, crabs, and shellfish will find it more difficult when building carbonate shells, and sometimes the carbonates shells may dissolve due to acidic water.

Allocation of more funds will help the researchers to fund their experiments, and they will produce useful results, which will help in saving the marine environment. For example, a teenager in Dutch invented a device, which he claims that it can clean up to 20 million tonnes of plastic wastes from the lakes and oceans. Allocation of funds will help such innovators to continue with their innovations leading to more effective and efficient devices that will save the marine environments. In addition, the funds will help other researchers who are dealing with chemical experiments, which will deal with global warming and reduction of rising acids in the oceans and lakes. The funds will also be utilized in training more experts who participate in research and experiments in the future and provide others solutions to environmental problems.

In conclusion, more funds should be allocated in this field to save our natural environment and the lives marine plants and animals. As the researchers are working on the experiments to reduce the problem, the community residents should participate in avoiding human activities, which will lead to global warming, acidic oceans, and other marine pollutions. The funds allocated can be used to organize training programs where the community residents will be trained on how to avoid activities leading to pollution of oceans, lakes, springs, and other water basins. More funds should be allocated to the biological experiments to save the marine environment and its habitats.
