Pages: 1

Words: 286

Essay

Communication, as it is the main process of establishing connection among humans, is also identified to be a series of cooperative operations that make it easier for humans to express themselves and have others realize who they are and what they hope to convey through conversation. In the field of pragmatics, communication is understood to be a series of connection among humans that specifically identify well with the idea of putting meaning and interpreting the words or the non-verbal actions that individuals use to relate with others.  Unlike semiotics, pragmatics gives value to all the other elements that are involved when humans tend to express themselves to others through communication. This includes actions, the background of the speaker and the idealisms he believes in especially in relation to what the issue he is presenting is about.

Referring to open inference, pragmatics aims to explore more than just the meaning of message being sent. It aims to give attention to what is not being said and how such unspoken words affect the overall context of the message being sent out. Learning the importance of pragmatics specifically give essence to the deeper meaning and value of communication. In the hope of realizing what is the real worth of good communication, pragmatics allow humans to look beyond and to search even further to be able to get a good grasp of what is being presented by a person through the message he aims to send out. This helps a lot in analyzing complex works of literature especially in relating them to the current situations that the world experiences at present. It could not be denied that pragmatics helps a lot in exploring the supposedly unexamined aspect of language and speech.
