This is more of an amendment rather than an improvement.

If the mother is admitted for C-Section she will have to be prepared to go to ICU if there are any complications.

The flowchart would change to show pre-registered patients to go immediately to registration and assessment.

The hospital could analyze the possibility of keeping all OB/GYN patients on one wing including a semi-ICU unit on such wing, leaving for extreme emergencies for ICU on another floor. They could also analyze the possibility of having the baby nursery on the same floor as the birthing rooms.
