The above dilemma has been debated for decades; since the Nixon administration, and it has also been one of the largest issues during the candidates’ arguments during the Gore-Bush campaign. Who Are Affected

People affected are mostly those below the poverty line in America, and those who are working hard to be able to afford their Medicare and Medicaid insurance payments. These people think that those not paying for the service are taking unfair advantage of the system.

Thesis Statement

The thesis statement would be that the real debate about “Every American should have access to quality healthcare” is based on different views and approaches of politics, as well as the differences between utilitarian and Kantian approaches to ethics.

Supporting Ideas – Literature Review

The overview of Kantian and Utilitarian ethics would be needed, as well as the political texts using ethical approaches. The review of supporting literature would be needed to determine the course of health care ethics in the 21^st Century.

Outline of the Essay

The essay would examine the society’s obligation, the discrimination prevention measures in place, as well as the reforms introduced in US health care in the past two decades to prove the above thesis. The authors would like to review the literature based on Kantian and Utilitarian ethics to explain the differences in opinion regarding the thesis.

The paper would consist of an introduction paragraph, a literature review of Kant’s and the Utilitarian approaches to ethics and social responsibility, analysis of the debate and conclusion.
