Essay

What makes up human development and personal progress? This is the condition of thinking that is further explained in the video clip Everybody Rides the Carousel. In a shortened picture-presentation of human possibilities and human connections, a presentation of psychological and social theories has been represented through animation of elements that are included in the film. This short animated film challenges the condition by which humans develop as individuals into embracing an intertwined connection with others. The carousel basically represents life and all the adversities, the fun and the opportunities that come along with it. The emotions that come along with the idea of living a life that one wants to embrace all challenges the capacity of a person to survive and end up successful in relation to this matter.

What could be noticeably acceptable of a life-pattern that one ought to live along with is something that needs to be given attention to by each individual. More so often, it could be understood that somehow, the works and efforts of each person applied in every turn of life’s challenging tides makes a definite impact on how one basically embraces the lessons he ought to learn from life. Getting the gist of the lessons taken from such options of learning is what makes the whole system more reflective of the ideal value of the challenges that life offers in order to shape the being of an individual towards becoming a more productive person; one who is able to become more constructive and effective on how he uses the most basic resources made available for him to use in order to establish a better sense of survival.

As the film suggests, everyone rides the carousel, no matter what the age or gender is; no matter what state of life one might be coming from. Practically, it could be realized that this fact identifies well with the construction of meaning for each person, the level of living value that one embraces to make a mark on how he intends to personally develop into a being that determines his worth as a person.

The theories behind the insistence of such value for life could be accounted for to follow the ideals of behaviorism and social learning theories. The theory behind behaviorism suggests that a person changes his attitudes and perception of life, depending on the conditions by which one sees the value of his environment to take root on his attitude and the way he sees the most constructive elements that make up his own being. This is how the condition of development advances and how humans learn to readjust on matters, thus developing more susceptible attitudes that are most often than not becoming the root of the primary options of personal progress that a person becomes highly involved with.

The theory of social constructivism based on social learning theories impose on the fact that when a person tries to adjust, there is a huge possibility that he would adapt to the situation that he is in based on how he sees others’ reactions on the matters affecting his personal perception and decision on the conditions he needs to face. What makes this approach effective is the fact that when it comes to determining a constant form of improvement, one learns not only from himself, but from that of the people surrounding him.

Considerably, people around the world have been seen to adjust to each other and find better ways to create a unified reaction with everyone else. Practically, the general population of human individuals from all around the globe learned how to embrace such need to adjust. Noticeably, the world remains open towards becoming more involved in determining a better sense of what makes a good point of learning from the society; which basically affects the personal development of an individual in relation to how the society generally progresses as well. In the short film, such condition of progress is made possibly effective in determining basic human nature that identifies what makes human development possible.
