The industry of selling real estate subjects its actors in one tough competition when it comes to finding the right clients and closing considerable rate of sales among the target buyers. Considering the different aspects of failure in the industry due to economic disparities especially among individuals working hard to earn the money, selling properties to most individuals require high-end skills when it comes to convincing matters. The Glengarry Glen Ross Real Estate Company even increases the competition further among its agents as it implies the need to sell up unwanted properties within staggering amounts.

In a way, such a practice could be considered swindling, although there is a product that shall be presented for sales, the assumption of value in relation to the said properties have a great impact on the ethical attitude of the agents among themselves and in relation to the condition of work they tend to follow. Nevertheless, the competition is heated up as the winner [the one who is able to sell more property in a month] is mentioned by the boss to be capable of winning a Cadillac while those who will lose will have to be fired and be left off without any job at all. The need to be aggressive enough to make the sales has become necessary among these agents. In the movie, it has been shown how each agent tried to stretch their resources, at some point even expound whatever they can work on [may the process be illegal or not] just to be able to get the most wanted deals to be closed. Finding the most comprehensive leads who are likely to say ‘yes’ to the deals is hard to achieve. Relatively, the agents had the desire to get hold of the list even though it meant undergoing a criminal offense as it would mean breaking into the office and stealing the said list of leads. Although this does not happen, this aspect of the movie provides an intensified proof on how the concept of competition could impose both positive and negative implications on the performance of workers in any given field.

Considerably, the movie represents a huge aspect that defines the true business culture that spreads around the globe today. Most likely, it could be observed on the movie how the aspect of procedural justice is set aside by the boss. Wanting the goals to be met in a speedy manner, the boss tries to incite a sense of competition among the people specifically insisting on how they should try to make sure that they close as many deals as they can within a specific given due time. Relatively, the competition increased pressure among the agents, although they have become highly motivated, the stress that the competition insists on them makes it easier for them to go over the specific points of ethical practices setting moral values aside just so to remain in the competition and secure their job.

The sad reality is that this situation actually happens; maybe not to all organizations, but to the majority of functioning businesses around the globe. Relatively, the desire of organizations to encourage better performance among workers has led them to insisting on the most impossible goals while giving them pressures that are almost unbearable. The justification of such rules applied on members of the organization cannot be found acceptable even though at some point it results to higher sales and a better turnaround of situations in the end. The effect that it leaves the employees with has a long time impact on the being of the worker. Not only does it insist on the behavioral alteration in an individual, but it also makes it possible for such an individual to set aside morality and be more concerned about the ‘money’ or whatever it is that is supposed to be the reward after victory has been won. The insistence of such system in organizations is a strong disdain reaction to the application of the principle of distributive justice. Not enabling the people to become better individuals but instead to become the opposite is an unethical practice that should be avoided by administrators at all times. Nevertheless, it has been shown in the movie that there are administrators that somehow feel that such an approach is necessary and they would not think twice in applying it among their employees than losing their company to an economic crunch in the industry.
