External Hosting: A customizable system and design for small businesses using web services

Technology has revolutionized the discovery of internet and E-Commerce. The system which has given strength and structure to these commercial websites is called Electronic Commerce, i.e. E-Commerce. E-Commerce also includes business-trading with other businesses and internal processes.  Mary Faye needs to build a website for gardening, which would portray her expertise and experience in gardening, the right tools, products, fertilizers, insecticides and pesticides for it. The structural approach of the website would consist of photographs of plants, a little background for novice gardeners and links to other gardening websites. I believe that the best practice for Mary Faye is to use an ISP for her endeavor, which would not only include the consumer services such as an internet browser, with  buying, shopping, carts, inquiries and comments page for the customers.

ISP providers would provide the internet connection and the E-Commerce Software application from its server to Mary Faye which would copy the transaction and document details onto its hard drive. Files which are being copied onto hard drive are further stored into the software’s database for future company’s record. The average cost of hosting an ISP provider is less than $20 per month and the website is built on priority basis with the E-Commerce software application. Mary Faye’s online gardening store would be a small-budgeted, informatory one, initially, which would convey knowledge and tips on gardening. Yahoo offers a wide range of web-hosting services on its Yahoo! Merchant Solutions Webpage, as well as google.com has excellent advertising solution for entrepreneurs. The start-up costs for getting the website hosted would be less than $20 per month and the estimated cost per 100 items averages between 3 percent and 5 percent of the total estimated sales. The break down for operating expenses is as follows in the chart below:

Operating Costs Low (Cost Estimates) High (Cost Estimates)
Initial Web hosting fee $5.00 $150.00
Annual web Maintenance fee $240.00 (12months X $20) $1000
Domain Name Registration $5.00 $200
Scanner for photo camera $200 $800
Photo editing software $60 $600
Occasional HTML design help $50 $500
Merchant Credit C. setup fee $5.00 $100
Total First Year’s Cost $565.00 $3350

From the operation budget to the web connection and maintaining the design and developments of Faye’s small website, the monthly web hosting fee of $20 or less is the mainstream of an effective online store that has to be traded for buying and selling merchandise, and this phenomena is least expensive and the most effective in convenient online web hosting.
