Essay

In the 21st century, social networking has turned out an everyday norm in our society. And for this purpose today the Facebook is a website and social-networking  service launched in February 2004, operated and privately owned by Facebook, Inc. Facebook, as a unique method of communication even the video chat option, has grown exponentially in its popularity over its time in existence. Through its uniqueness, Facebook has transformed the system people operate over the last few years and is today used for various things, from sharing and posting pictures with your friends, to setting up guest lists for events.

Facebook primarily focuses on students from high school to universities, individuals, social groups, and the small and medium enterprise businesses. Facebook’s focus is scary, mind-boggling and wonderfully inspiring the people at the same time. It has the power to become the source by which society can transform itself from its current, inhumane, inherently unjust and unsustainable situation to one, rooted in our more enlightened, human nature, which is far more just, humane and, most urgently of all, sustainable.

Facebook has the highest user percentage of all social media sites, and it reaches to more than eight million users in a year. Facebook is the best mean to connect with your old high school and college classmates. It really allows you to reconnect with the number of old friends and to make new friends. Individuals and companies use Facebook to encourage their product and services. Facebook has a number of opportunities for self-promotion, making it a great platform for anyone who actually needs to find customers and to get supporters.

The shared information has brought the issue of privacy to the fore, with many people strongly arguing that Facebook is a gross infringement of the privacy of an individual. However, this is genuine to a specific extent; it is also a fact that anyone is a Facebook member by choice. The basic principle of Facebook will present us that this is a substance that can violate people’s sense of privacy, but at the end of the day; it is completely in your hands.

Other issues with Facebook include that anyone can be bombarded with the unwanted friends’ requests from the people which are unknown. The pictures and other stuff shared on Facebook can also be misused by anyone. The people can receive the news feeds about all your activities performed. People may label you in a picture that you do not wish others to see.

In conclusion, the advanced social networking that Facebook presents is very easily accessible, convenient, and helpful in the transferring of information. It has developed to be the largest web community (Kirkpatrick, 2010). The numbers of uses for Facebook are what make it so special, unique and appealing to the general public. Facebook is taking over social networking as a whole, and will continue to grow in popularity.
