Essay

Coming from a Chinese background, it is specifically expected that a distinct past covers a family that has been accustomed to the life in China and later on adjusting to the life in a more modern world. The year 1949 promised a great chance for people living and are to be born in the said region of the world when it was found and the Republic of China was established. Following such a distinct part in the Chinese history is the peaceful liberation of Tibet in the 1950’s. This provided groundwork for the establishment of a strong and distinct Chinese Republic. China was slowly becoming a strong community, a nation that is able to embrace development and produce defense that it needs in facing major social and military challenges that come along with progress. To mark such capacity, the first atomic bomb explosion was noted to be the most successful display of military defense in 1964 that was presented by a communism-lead community like China. This particular part of the Chinese history changed the entire course of human history and how governments have viewed military defense tactics. This event displayed the power that China have especially when it comes to showing other nations that they are ready to defend themselves, as if establishing a ground of power.

With such event taking place, China became a sleeping enemy that almost all other countries are afraid of. The nation became an untouchable which further strengthened its economic feats. Investors came in and small business owners felt it was the right time to start their own companies. China was facing a dramatic growth from that point on. Within the era of the birth of a promising China, Guoping Ye, my father, was born in Taizhou Zhejiang province in June 25, 1965. A year after, my mother Peng Zheng, was born in the same province on December 6, a time when the Great Cultural Revolution was affecting the overall lifestyle that the people embraced in the country. My mother and father witnessed some of the most prominent events in China, including that of the creation and the launching of the first artificial earth satellite know as Don Fang Hong 1 in the 1970s. With the development of such an invention, it was expected that China is to grow into a distinct nation, a reason for the 37th US President, Richard M. Nixon, to visit China and see if he would be able to create an alliance that would seal the deal in relation to how the two nations are to be connected for economic purposes, then and even towards the future years to come. This particular visit opened the Chinese economy to western connections, a reason why investors were more convinced to establish their businesses I the country. Years after the said visit, China continued to present promising chances of expansion for business owners in America, a reason why job opportunities were not that hard to find during the time. My father was able to enter a position in a bank in 1988 in line with such economic even.

China’s international popularity kept on growing and in 1990, Beijing was chosen to hold the first Asian Games. This redefined the economic system in China, introducing it to more international investors apart from America. In 1991, after the Asian Games, my mother and father got married and felt that it was the right time to establish a family. They had their first child in 1993. I, Xinyl Ye was born in the same province where my mother and father began their life. Seeing the strength of the Chinese community, the Olympic Games was set in Beijing in 2008. Such occurrence signaled a great chance for my father to establish his small company in 2009. Being able to establish a good company, I was able to study in the USA in a prestigious university, MSU. Since then, I realized how important it was that the Chinese history has been intertwined with that of my family’s as it provided me the chance to embrace a better sense of what good living is all about.
