Farazmand Chapter 2 Blog Response, Essay Example

Pages: 2

Words: 483

Essay

Successful organizations typically have an organizational philosophy. Using Farazmand overview on theory, what theory or theories do you think would be most relevant or useful in today’s modern organization?

The theory on bureaucracy fits most structures of organizations at present. People assigned in their own positions, individuals taking their own tasks under specific control and direction, these specific phases of organizational arrangement intend to put the right people in their right places allowing them to act and perform accordingly as needed.

Likely, it is the need to control such bureaucracy that needs to be realigned and carefully observed in connection with the proper application of its principles in an organization. Without properly overseeing its provisions, an organization applying the theory of bureaucracy in their operations may suffer from the deep effects of organizational politics.

True to its sense, the careful application of bureaucracy in organizations intends to create a hierarchical form of administration that is based on trust, performance and excellence. Following this particular reason, organizations applying such theory into their system would get the benefits of a properly administered organization that would lead them and the whole organization to better sense of progress.

Measurement of Learning

Tests and written examinations are often regarded as the most common forms of testing the ability and the learning process that affects the learners’ development. It could be understood that somehow, this approach have failed over and over as it simply provides a sense of indication on how the brain responds directly to the lessons taught to them based on what they remember and not on what has been instilled in their thinking.

This implication of test results insists on the fact that remembering does not necessarily mean learning. Learning is relatively connected to application and simply remembering what they have learned do not imply on the possibility of them applying such elements of thoughts. Such assumption shows that learning should be measured not through recalling tests but through application based evaluations.

Writing articles that lead to a term paper: A better measurement of learning

Writing articles often provide students with the capacity to express themselves, provide their ideas as to what they perceive regarding the lessons that they learn from class. Written articles leading to term papers often provide a distinction on how a person is able to seek the possible chances by which he could apply what he has learned and further be enhanced by the said lessons.

Understandably, a person’s expression of his thoughts define how much of the lessons he understood and how he is likely willing to apply these matters into his actual being and the actual situations in life he engages with. The creation of several articles conveys the personal understanding of the students. Finally putting such ideas in a term paper basically gives the learners a chance to understand how they are likely to be able to apply such conditions of lessons into their actual lives.
