Federal Education Laws, Essay Example

From teachers and principals to the bully on the playground, there are many different elements that contribute to the quality of a child’s education.  One such aspect that works in the background is federal laws.  Although federal laws seem to paint the background of our educational systems, they are one of the most influential and important factors of the educational system.

For instance, the National School Lunch Act (PL 79-396) and the Child Nutrition Act (PL 89-642) provide funding to state agencies in order to provide nutritious and healthy meals to kids while they are away from home – at school, living in service institutions, as well as partaking in organized activities.  The object of such acts is to establish and maintain proper health and nutrition among school aged children.  Overall, the National School Lunch Act is important to education in the sense that it enables all children to obtain an equal learning experience.

Another example of an important educational federal law is PL 95-561.  Public Law 95-561 is An Act to Extend and Amend Expiring Elementary and Secondary Education Programs, and for Other Purposes.  This act includes educational amendments from 1978.  The amendments consist of plans for basic skills development, special project such as art education and correctional education, emergency aid, bilingual education, as well as talented and gifted educational programs.  This federal educational law is important in that it works to extend certain aspects of education that successfully served our countries educational system.

Federal laws are very important facets of education in America.  Because of these federal laws, rights, and amendments, this country can proudly uphold one of the most influential and successful educational systems in the world.  Although federal laws seem to play a silent role in our educational systems, they are one of the most influential and important factors of the educational system today.
