Essay

Bottom of Form

I am the human resource manager for Fortune 500 Company; thus, it is my duty to hire a sales manager to put on market the latest fiber optic products to wireless manufacturers of the five companies. Basing my decision on the information I have in the brief description, I pick Karen to be the new sales representative. I consider her fit because she has good knowledge in fiber optic engineering and five years of successful experience. The two factors match the job demands necessary to work in the office of sales consultant work (Harvey and Allard 47). She is sophisticated articulate and has good knowledge in fiber optics. Like any other fast-growing sector, fiber optic needs well-trained employees. The successful applicant will be subjected to training in technical schools, or colleges; this will equip them with adequate knowledge on fiber optics. It is noteworthy that this preparation facilitates the sales personnel to answer questions on the fundamentals of the technology proficiently. Although a sales person can sell the product, he/she needs to know how components of fiber optic works. The advantage of having a well-developed knowledge is confidence. It enables the sales person to make credible, improved presentations (McCarthy 7). In addition, it increases the dependence by the customer concerning the sales person for response to technical questions. Having done engineering, Karen is well- versed with fiber optic. Since this is a new technology, it requires a good sales representative. Her five years experience in sales makes her the best applicant for sales post. A qualified employee should know what they are selling, if possible from individual experience, and should have skills in teaching customers about fiber optic and how it works. Karen is a youth who is energetic and can travel from Monday through to Friday. She will have the leisure time with her fiancée as they prepare to get married the following month. The other applicants do not merge her qualifications for the job.
