Finders, Keepers? Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 195

Essay

A 2003 article entitled “Finders, keepers? Attracting, motivating and retaining knowledge workers” explains the most effective and least effective human resources strategies that contribute to attracting, motivating, and retaining workers (Horwitz et al., 2003). The most prominent strategies that are used include a thorough interview process and offering incentives for retention of talent. In other situations, the human resources team has provided their employees with incentive to leave the job more quickly if they didn’t feel that it was the right position for them (Glen, 2006). Ultimately, these and related articles state that it is important to ensure that employees have a natural tendency towards success in the particular positions they choose. It is easy to discern who these individuals are early on in the hiring process because those who are more concerned with their long term success with the company will ultimately be the better workers.
