Flat Writing: My Favorite Nephew, Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 294

Essay

Now, there’s a new reason for all of us to come home. The smile f my favorite nephew, his coos and small sound of sweet nothings always make every day worth living. This miracle of life gave our family a second chance and a new hope; something we would all be thankful for.
Young as my sister was, she was asked by her boyfriend to have the baby aborted which made my mother angry that she threatened her that she would not be able to come back home again if she did so. Her boyfriend was then counseled by my father convincing him to do the right thing. He decided to get a job later on, which he used to save up for his new family. Everything was all over the place for several months. However, when the finally came home after the delivery, it was as if everything fell back in place. From that time on, I called him the family’s angel, our baby, my favorite nephew.
My mother was in tears when she saw the child. It became even more intense when she finally held him in her arms. We were all eyes as she tried to rock him to sleep and kissed my sister in her forehead while saying “thank you for listening”. This dramatic event came from a very long story of indecisiveness of whether or not my sister would keep the child. It even resulted to almost breaking our family apart. It was a sunny afternoon when my pregnant sister felt contractions and my brother-in-law had to run her to the hospital for a supposed check-up. Several hours later, they arrived back home with a cute little baby. He looked so much like an angel without the wings of course.
