Overview – This process examines two  work shift routines.  At the end of each shift a report is produced for Management.  This is a simple process designed along the parameters of INPUT, PROCESS and OUTPUT  (IPO).

Metrics –  The reports themselves are the key metrics in terms of measuring efficiency and output from the shift work. Consider :

• Start Time | Within acceptable start parameters
• Work Completed | Meets the minimum work requirements for the shift.  May be measured against Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) . In addition Quality benchmarks that are established to measure performance against quality standards
• Issues | Listed issues may be measured via preliminary risk assessment and potential threat to work completion. Simple metrics may be High, Medium and Low Risk
• Labour Utilization | These reported statistics may be measured against standards or benchmarks that are produced for standard labour utilization. Variance analysis may be produced in order to illustrate efficiencies (+) results and underutilization or inefficiencies via (-) results.
