Following the present course of studies, I have found out hoe vibrant and varied the world of psychology and brain science is; I will not conceal the fact that I initially perceived this course as something boring, since brain science is about the parts of brain, their functions, correlations, and mechanisms of activity. I have always known that the ability to read is directly connected with the abilities of one’s brain. However, I have never been able even to suppose that the human brain can be affected in so many ways in the framework of studies and learning.

I have acquired a deep, critical understanding of various malfunctions of the human brain as well as the roots thereof that cause deviations from the normal development of the human abilities to read, write, retain information, etc. However, I have also found out that these malfunctions can often be mitigated and corrected, and that targeted work with some of them can bring excellent results. The most striking issue about the present course was to have a look at the world of reading from the side of struggling learners, and I also remember that the brain-compatible classroom design was more of an adventure than a formalized assignment. When I engaged in the formulation of rules, tasks, and preconditions for immersive learning, I realized how difficult it is at times for teachers to organize such classrooms, but how rewarding they may become for students with both limited and normal academic possibilities.

Finally, I want to note that I understood to the fullest extent that everything in life is interconnected, and brain science should never be ignored in education. Despite its seeming complex and unclear for regular educators, the brain science contains some peculiarities that may simplify the lives of many teachers in case they are used properly. Hence, all students wishing to connect their lives with education have to master neurocognitive science at first to understand what happens inside the learner’s brain during the course of studying, and to be able to influence that process the way they want.
